Of the eleven launch heroes in Honor of Kings: World, five must be exchanged with Crystal Amber. Which one should you prioritize? Below is Bilibili creator 叫我棉被’s Crystal Amber hero-exchange guide.

Exchange approach

The first exchanged hero matters most because it should help your early-game progression.

The core idea is to pair a hero you already have—or Jialuo—with one Crystal Amber hero so that your team takes shape quickly.

Crystal Amber exchange approach

If you main Jialuo

If Jialuo is your main, Sun Bin is the recommended Crystal Amber exchange.

Jialuo and Sun Bin can produce exceptional damage, while Sun Bin’s slowing tools create a strong environment for Jialuo to keep attacking.

Luban Master can also pair with Jialuo: he provides critical-damage amplification and some protection, but he is not the first recommendation.

If you main Xi Shi

If you main Xi Shi, consider exchanging Hua Mulan.

This team may not have the highest raw output, but its combat feel is exceptionally satisfying.

Xi Shi and Hua Mulan pairing

Hua Mulan has Lightblade Form and Heavyblade Form. Lightblade Form builds energy, laying the groundwork for Heavyblade Form’s later damage.

Build Swiftblade Intent—the pink meter on the right—to unlock Heavyblade Form skills.

Heavyblade Form builds seal charges—the petals on the right. With the seal charges filled, hold Skill 1 to consume them; each charge calls down a massive blade from the sky.

Wang Zhaojun

To bring out Wang Zhaojun’s full strength, pair her with another Crystal Amber hero: Leng Chun.

Wang Zhaojun performs well at clearing groups early on and can create a favorable DPS window for the team.

If you are not chasing peak damage in the early game and do not need a specific team composition, Wang Zhaojun is also a viable exchange.

Luban Master

Luban Master currently fits Dongfang Yao particularly well.

This is a powerful all-round pairing for the late game.

Luban Master and Dongfang Yao pairing

Its core strengths are Luban Master’s powerful enemy grouping and critical-damage amplification. When combined with the heavy-hammer summon shown in the source material, it can improve Dongfang Yao’s group clearing, single-target burst, and survivability.

However, this relies on later talent unlocks, so it is not recommended for early progression.

Leng Chun

To realize Leng Chun’s full value, you also need to pair her with the other Crystal Amber hero, Wang Zhaojun.

Assembling every required hero early on is inconvenient, so the guide does not recommend spending Crystal Amber on Leng Chun during early-game progression.
