Skill-focused early teams
Child of the Primal Flow
The Child of the Primal Flow draws most damage from skills. Xi Shi is the preferred partner because she offers both a damage increase and enemy grouping. Kai is the alternative when the party needs a Toughness Break specialist, while Master Luban supplies critical-hit damage support.
Hua Mulan
Hua Mulan is also skill-focused, but she is much more execution-demanding. New players should choose her carefully. Xi Shi remains the preferred support; Kai and Master Luban are viable alternatives depending on the team’s need for Break pressure or critical-hit damage.
Shield support and sustained damage
Leng Chun
Leng Chun’s Demon Form gains damage as HP falls, so a shield support is important for staying alive in a risky damage window. Wang Zhaojun is the strongest fit in the supplied recommendation; Master Luban is a workable alternative.
Meng Ya
Meng Ya is an on-field sustained-DPS choice. Sun Bin is recommended to improve post-Break damage and Ultimate Energy recharge; Kai or Master Luban can fill the secondary slot instead. Older advice pairing Meng Ya with Dongfang Yao should not be treated as current: the public-beta combo-hit system added an internal cooldown.
Execution-heavy and ranged-burst options
Dongfang Yao
Dongfang Yao is highly execution-dependent and cannot access his core talents during the earliest progression. The source recommends saving him for mid-to-late progression, with Master Luban as the best-matched support.
Jialuo
Jialuo is rated as a top-tier ranged burst DPS. Xi Shi or Wang Zhaojun are effective early transition partners; Sun Bin is the first choice when available, Master Luban is situational, and Kai provides a Toughness Break role. Ranged positioning also gives Jialuo more freedom to avoid incoming damage while preparing burst windows.
