Open the original Chinese guide ↗Kai + Jialuo
Kai has exceptional Toughness Break potential, creating a valuable damage window for Jialuo. The source presents this as an early-game pairing: Kai is unlocked through the newcomer event, while Jialuo is obtained through the Battle Pass.
Both characters come online quickly. They do not directly grant one another buffs, but the frontline-and-ranged-DPS division works well in live combat.
Roles
Kai is the frontline combatant: high defense, strong survivability, Super Armor, recovery, and powerful Toughness Break. Jialuo is the primary sustained-damage carry, able to maintain high output when the team gives her a safe firing window.
That is the core pairing logic: Kai opens the break window, and Jialuo converts it into damage.
Combos
Kai: Q R (Returning Blade or Basic Attack) R E A. Q throws a returning blade and restores HP on a hit, making it central to his sustain. R can parry incoming attacks; a successful parry enables a second-stage follow-up. His Ultimate grants Super Armor and improves his damage.
Jialuo: Q A A R A A E A, repeating until her arrows are spent. Q switches to Longbow Form, whose basic attacks consume arrows. Silent Arrow has been changed in the source footage to launch and knockback, while restoring two arrows. R deploys a field that raises critical chance and gradually increases attack speed; opening or ending it also restores two arrows.
The basic loop is Q → AA → R → AA → E → A. Use E and R to create as many enhanced basic attacks as possible.
Rotation
Use Kai's parry interactions to gain value, then force a Toughness Break. Once the enemy is broken, Jialuo has room to deliver uninterrupted ranged damage. Spend the active character's skills and switch to the next character rather than holding cooldowns.
Spirit Summons
For early progression, the source recommends the event-granted Luban VI Spirit Summon because it restores Ultimate Energy. This supports both Kai and Jialuo.
For midgame, switch to Moonblade Boto, a source-bound Spirit Summon name that the guide recommends for a substantial Jialuo damage increase.
